Spread the Word

In order to create greater public awareness of the impact of the direct care workforce and family caregivers, we need more people talking about it. So many people don’t think about the impact that the direct care workforce has on them or their community until they are faced with someone they know needing support, care, or services.

Sharing information about your profession and about Iowa CareGivers

Often the image that people have of the direct care workforce comes from the negative stories in the news.

How do we change that perception?  Why is direct care so undervalued? How do we improve the image of the profession?

We speak up and spread the word about those who have chosen direct care as a career, those who are compassionate and value the care/services they provide.  We educate people and change the way that people think and talk about direct care. And we start to change perspectives that being a direct care worker is just an entry level job.  It is a chosen career for many with inherent value to our community.

It is also important to be involved in a caring community that supports you!  That’s where Iowa CareGivers comes in.  We are there to help support those in direct care to serve the needs of Iowans by being: empowered, prepared, connected, informed, and inspired.

Here are a few flyers that can help you spread the word about Iowa CareGivers and the importance of direct care.
